The Ministry of Municipalities and Housing showcased its efforts in serving the guests of Allah in Mecca and the holy sites, as part of its participation in the sixth edition of the Hajj Conference and Exhibition 2026 in Jeddah, organized by the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah in partnership with the Guests of Allah Service Program, under the slogan “From Mecca to the World,” during the period from November 8 to 11.
Ahmed Al-Dhafiri, spokesperson for the Ministry of Municipalities and Housing, confirmed that the municipal and housing services system operates during the Hajj season according to three main tracks: preparing the area, monitoring services, and responding to reports and emergencies, noting that these tracks enhance readiness and ensure quick responses to developments.
Al-Dhafiri stated: “In the last Hajj season, we received more than 29,000 reports, and the response time did not exceed 73 seconds for each report, which reflects the system’s readiness and preparedness, as well as the desire of Saudi youth to provide the best services to the guests of Allah.”
The spokesperson for the municipalities added that the system achieved operational rates that included providing a field staff member for every 76 pilgrims and a cleaning unit for every 19 pilgrims, pointing out that localization decisions contributed to enabling 17,000 Saudi technical and engineering staff in the private sector to work within the Mecca region and contribute to serving the guests of Allah.
He clarified that material and logistical capabilities are important, but the human workforce remains fundamental, emphasizing that the workers perform their duties out of love for the homeland, leadership, and the people, and in appreciation of the guests of Allah coming from every deep valley to perform the rituals.
The ministry’s participation in the conference comes to highlight its role and the role of the municipalities in the Hajj system, and to introduce the efforts and municipal services provided during previous seasons, as well as the achievements that contributed to creating a safe and accessible environment for pilgrims and enhancing the quality of services provided to them.
